EMDR Therapy and Consultation

What is EMDR Therapy?

EMDR, which stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a therapeutic intervention that helps your body and your brain digest hard things that have happened. Through the use of a technique called bilateral stimulation, the therapist facilitates the natural healing systems in your brain to file old experiences that have been stuck... often leading to a decrease in distressing symptoms, flashbacks, nightmares, and body sensations.

This form of therapy is an excellent resource for those struggling with PTSD, anxiety, depression, and chronic stress. Though there are no guarantees that any type of therapy will work for you, EMDR is a well-researched therapeutic model recognized as effective by organizations such as the American Psychiatric Association, the Department of Veterans Affairs/Department of Defense, and the World Health Organization.
